Participate in an 8-week Scientist Program learning how to perform experiments using the scientific method located at one of our 3 locations:
-Tree Tops Park in Davie, FL
-Canopy Nature School in Wellington, FL
-Compass Outreach and Education Center in Coral Springs, FL
Lessons are divided into the following groups:
1. Mini science (30-minute experimental lessons) for 4-6 years old
2. Future Researchers (60-minute experimental lessons) for 5-8 years old
3. Scientific Investigators (60-minute experimental lessons) for 8-11 years old
**** limited availability of 8-10 students per class.
Lessons throughout the 2023-2024 school year will include a variety of hands on projects and experiments that follow a structured guideline using the scientific method. across the following topics::
Homeschool Research Methods, Physics, Biology, Chemistry, Molecular Biology, Ecology, Environmental science, Microbiology and Neuroscience.
I have accomplished a very long and personal goal to obtain a Doctorate Degree in Neuroscience. I have also earned two distinct Masters Degrees in Experimental Psychology and Biology. Obtaining a doctorate degree has given me the advantage of knowing the higher education system from a student perspective. I apply it to guide my students' learning science topics by offering a scientist's approach to enhance their problem-solving skills. Everyone is a scientist in their own life when we encounter obstacles that require solutions.
In addition to my personal achievements, one of my best experiences to date has been to become a proud homeschooling mother. I have a four-year old son and a newborn. Learning through the eyes of my first-born has been an enjoyable learning so far. As an adult, I have adopted a fitness and nutritional oriented life-style after adopting the practice of the Brazilian Jiu Jitsu martial arts for the past 8 years. The inclusion of a health-oriented lifestyle into my life created a passion for cooking and baking healthy meals and desserts for myself and my family. I take a lot of pride in being capable of providing my developing child with high nutritious and balanced meals.
I aim to influence young minds to learn about the physical world and understand the role of science in our everyday lives. I specialize in teaching scientific topics and concepts through hands-on activities and experiments. My goal is to teach my students how to become their own scientists in their everyday lives. I’d like to do this by inspiring students to evaluate and understand current scientific breakthroughs across science disciplines using the scientific method followed by real scientists and developing problem-solving skills. Students will learn how to categorize the learned information, collect data, make conclusions of their data, and offer solutions to presented challenges. .
In short, my main goal is to inspire young minds to learn investigation and problem-solving techniques that will be applicable inside and outside of the classroom.
